The National Society of Leadership and Success, aka The NSLS or Sigma Alpha Pi, is a leadership honor society that helps students achieve personal growth and career success, and empowers them to have a positive impact in their communities. It distinguishes itself by offering a step-by-step program for members to build leadership skills through interactive broadcasts with the nation’s best speakers, training in goal setting, and coordinating team meetings in which students set goals and hold each other accountable for achieving them.
The NSLS has not only improved students GPA, communication skills and self-confidence; it has also positively impacted student retention and their transition from college to career. With over 650 participating colleges and 900,000+ members nationwide, the Career Development Center is pleased to host The NSLS at Cal State LA.
The Career Development Center and Chapter Student Executive Board Members select candidates for membership based on leadership potential. Membership is for a lifetime and those members who submit the one-time membership fee of $85 and complete all leadership training activities during the year are recognized through an induction ceremony. Once inducted, members may list their affiliation with The NSLS on all statements of personal accomplishments, including the résumé.
