This film follows the life of Walter Littlemoon, a 69-year-old Lakota born and raised in Wounded Knee, South Dakota, but who, at the age of five, was removed from his family and community to attend a federal government boarding school designed to strip Native Americans of their heritage. Directed by Jonathan Skurnik and Randy Vasquez, 2012, 57 minutes.

Festivities will include an open mic hosted by third-generation L.A. native and acclaimed poet, Mike Sonksen, and featuring special guest readers. There will also be a Poet Tree to write and post your own messages and poems. All are welcome to join, converse, participate, and learn about writing opportunities on campus.
