Early Entrance Program
In addition to our regular services, CAPS serves our EEP students by providing wellness presentations geared toward their unique concerns.
Sexuality and Gender
CAPS Counselors are LGBTQIPA+ friendly and are trained to provide services in a welcoming and informed manner. For additional support and services on campus, please visit The Gender & Sexuality Resource Center.
Students with Disabilities
CAPS works closely with Cal State LA's Office for Students with Disabilities. If you believe you have a mental health disability that impacts your academic performance and you require documentation for accommodations, please make a CAPS appointment to be evaluated. Please note: CAPS cannot provide evaluations and diagnoses in every case.
At CAPS we understand that undocumented students experience unique stressors. Dr. Yadira Anguiano provides a weekly UndocU support group at the Dreamers' Resource Center and many of our Counselors have completed the UndocuAlly program.
For campus, city, state, and national resources, including financial aid and scholarships, please visit the Erika J. Glazer Dreamers' Resource Center.
Veteran and Military-Affiliated Students
CAPS Counselors have been trained to provide therapy to veteran and military-affiliated clients. We understand that our veteran and military-affiliated students have had experiences and a shared culture that is unique among our student population.
For information about veteran resources on campus and in the community, see the Cal State LA Veterans Resource Center.
