How-To Use Roxio to Backup Your Data

  1. Insert a blank CD in a write-capable drive.
  2. Click Start -> All Programs -> Roxio -> Creator Basic to start the program.

  3. Click the Data Bar.

  4. Select Data Disc.

  5. Click Add Data.

  6. You'll probably want to select entire folders. Select Add Folder.

  7. You'll probably want to back up your desktop and profiles.

  8. It's likely that you'll get this error to add things such as "My Documents" where most of your data exists.

  9. Add "My Documents" separately if necessary.

  10. When done, click on the Orange "continue" button.

  11. The disc copy should occur within a few seconds.

  12. When the copy is over, Roxio prompts you so. Click the done button.

  13. You'll likely want to repeat this process in the future. Save the project as a roxio project file for future use.
