DETAILS FOR GUESTS

TICKETS

Guest tickets can only be reserved by the graduating candidate. It is the graduating candidate's responsibility to reserve tickets during Grad Fair on April 10 and 11, 2019 or online starting April 22, 2019, at 8 a.m. (PST) until May 3, 2019, at 5 p.m. (PST). After the deadline date, guest tickets are no longer guaranteed.

Due to safety, security, and capacity constraints all guests attending the ceremonies, including infants and children, will require a ticket to enter the venue. Each ticket has a unique bar code and is specific to a ceremony. Once a bar code has been scanned, any copies of the same ticket will not be valid and will not allow entry into the gymnasium.

Please note that Commencement tickets are FREE and are not for sale. Tickets that are sold or bought are not authorized by the University and are subject to invalidation by the University.

ALTERNATE VIEWING

Guests who are unable to obtain a ticket can view the ceremonies at Golden Eagle Ballrooms 1 & 2 at the Golden Eagle building, 3rd floor. Each ceremony will be livestreamed. No tickets are required for this venue. Seating is first-come, first-served.

LIVESTREAM

From May 20 - 24, 2019, each ceremony will be livestreamed online. Guests who are unable to attend but still want to view the festivities can visit www.calstatela.edu and watch the ceremonies from their computer, laptop, or mobile device.

ENTRANCE

The University Gymnasium is located inside the Physical Education building, at the Billie Jean King Sports Complex, at the center of the campus. There will be two (2) main guest entrances located in front of the venue. The west entrance is accessible off the main University walkway and across from the Administration building. This is the most accessible and convenient entrance for guests who parked at Structure C or Lot 5, or took the shuttle to the Lot 4 stop. The east entrance faces the Fine Arts and Engineering & Technology building. This is the most accessible and convenient entrance for guests who parked at Lot 8, or took the shuttle to the Lot 8 stop. The south entrance facing the pool will only be used after the ceremonies as an exit.

Guests are encouraged to arrive up to 90 minutes before the ceremonies to accommodate for traffic, parking, large crowds, and mobility. All doors open 75 minutes* prior to each ceremony with the elderly and people with disabilities seated first. Five minutes before the scheduled start time, entrances will close and will not reopen until after the national anthem.

*  Subject to change due to weather or if the previous ceremony runs late.

SEATING

To accommodate all ticketed guests, ushers will seat guests by sections until filled. Due to capacity, guests can only hold seats for their companions for 15 minutes. If seats are still unoccupied after 15 minutes, ushers will direct other guests to those seats.

ACCESSIBLE SEATING

Accessible seating is located throughout the main gym and is available on first-come basis for guests with mobility impairments and one companion. If you need assistance, please ask the nearest usher.
