On Saturday, April 7, 2018 a celebration of life for Professor Olaiya Emmanuel Aina was held at Draper Mortuary Chapel. There was an outpouring of love and support for his family and friends by the more than 25 students and alumnae of the M.A. in Elementary Education Program, along with a dozen CCOE faculty and staff who were in attendance. Dr. Ambika Raj provided a touching reflection, on behalf of the College, that celebrated Dr. Aina’s wit and wisdom.
This was followed by some of the students sharing their memories. Students who graduated in May, organized themselves to wear specially embroidered stoles on their commencement robes with their favorite saying by Dr. Aina, “The sky is no longer the limit, it’s just the beginning.”
